Hello!

I have always had a love of many mediums, and this eventually led me to pursue a career in architecture. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability in the Built Environment from the University of Florida, I moved to South Bend to earn my Master of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame.

After graduation, I moved to South Carolina to learn the art of traditional building. In my free time, I enjoyed exploring different mediums, techniques, and styles using acrylics, watercolors, gouache, pastels, clay, and linocut printmaking. Following my dream to create, I now reside in Boston, where I enjoy the changing of seasons through an urban lens while I work full-time as an artist, designer, and both the author and illustrator of my children's book, A is for Architect.

Constantly inspired by nature, my work often features landscapes, botanicals, and fresh produce. I also frequently paint the classical architecture I am still inspired by, letting myself free to loosely convey the impressions of beautiful details seen in light and hidden by shadow. Additionally, I delight in letting my imagination transport my work into another world, painting tigers taking on the mundane aspects of daily life, like reading the newspaper with a hot cup of coffee.

I hope you have fun looking through the various directions my art takes, and I thank you for stopping by!

Best,

Lauren

Hold Up- Why the Tiger?

The Tiger collection can be traced back to what I like to call "a random moment of whimsy put to canvas." After sharing the painting with my brother, I was encouraged to make more and bring them to my next art show. The reactions from buyers were priceless, and the series has happily snowballed from there. The wide-ranging demographic of people that the Tigers appeal to has been a joy to discover. I love hearing what people see in the faces of the Tigers, whether that be their school mascot, their pet, their family member, or just themselves on Monday morning!
